FAQs

Weather & temperature policy?

We monitor weather and road conditions continuously. If travel or flight becomes unsafe or an airline imposes restrictions, we may adjust schedules and keep you fully updated.

Can I ride along with my pet?

Sometimes—at our discretion. Requirements: two IDs, possible background check, 15% passenger fee, and a signed waiver (releasing us from incidents caused by passenger negligence)

Do you operate nights, weekends, and holidays?

Yes—24/7 communication and flexible pickups/drop-offs when available. Holiday or off-hours timing may be limited; book early

Do you offer flight nanny services? How do they work?

Yes — The Pet Shipper LLC offers professional flight nanny services for small, airline-approved pets traveling in the cabin.

Here’s how it works:

  • We and the client agree on travel dates and flight details.

  • The client pays for:

    • Our round-trip airline ticket

    • The airline’s in-cabin pet boarding fee

    • Our pet nanny service fee

  • A trained handler escorts your pet in the cabin only — never cargo.

  • Continuous updates and communication are provided throughout the journey.

Since each airline has specific rules, we review the details with every client before booking to make sure requirements are met.

Do you transport exotic pets or livestock?

Yes — we transport a wide variety of animals beyond dogs and cats, including exotic pets and livestock.

  • Exotic pets: Some species require special handling or licensing. We’ll confirm with you in advance if your pet can be accommodated.

  • Livestock: Smaller livestock (like chickens, rabbits, or young goats) can usually be scheduled with shorter notice if we have availability. For larger livestock (horses, cows, adult goats, etc.), we require booking at least 3 weeks in advance to prepare proper transport arrangements.

Do you transport puppies under 12 weeks old?

Yes — we can safely transport puppies under 12 weeks of age.

  • For shared rides, all pets must have a recent vet check and age-appropriate vaccinations.

  • For puppies under 12 weeks, we also offer a “no paws on the ground” option for extra protection against illness during travel.

  • For flight nanny services, all pets — including puppies — must have proper vaccinations and airline approval to fly.

How do you handle pets with anxiety, special needs, or disabilities?

Every pet is unique, and some need a little extra care. At The Pet Shipper LLC, we:

  • Discuss needs upfront: We ask owners to share any medical conditions, disabilities, or behavior concerns before booking so we can prepare properly.

  • Adjust transport style: Anxious pets may travel more comfortably in a Private Journey where they receive one-on-one attention.

  • Medication & comfort: We can administer owner-provided medication during stops, and we encourage sending comfort items (blankets, toys, bedding).

  • Gentle handling: Our team is trained to work patiently with pets who may be fearful, elderly, or physically limited.

  • Extra communication: We keep owners updated more frequently during trips with photos, videos, and status messages for added peace of mind.

Do you work with rescues, breeders, and military families?

Yes — The Pet Shipper LLC proudly works with rescues, breeders, veterinarians, trainers, and military families.

  • We understand the special needs of each group, whether it’s rehoming, show animals, breeding programs, or military relocations.

  • As a thank-you, we offer discounts to rescues, breeders, and military families.

Can you handle last-minute or emergency transport?

Yes — we do accept urgent transport requests. However, because scheduling is tighter, an express fee applies:

  • Within 1–2 days of pickup: 10%-15% of trip cost.

  • Same-day pickup (with availability): 25 % - 30% of trip cost.

We recommend booking as far in advance as possible — many clients schedule weeks or even months ahead — but when emergencies arise, we’ll do our best to help.

Do you offer door-to-door delivery?

Yes — all of our transports are direct, door-to-door.

  • No terminals.

  • No crowded transfer stations.

  • No unnecessary hand-offs.

Your pet is picked up at your door and delivered safely to the final destination, making the trip smooth, efficient, and stress-free. Exceptions may apply to all Flight Nanny Services. *

What should I prepare before transport?

We provide nearly everything your pet needs for a safe, comfortable journey. However, to make the trip smoother, we ask owners to prepare a few essentials:

  • Vet records: Required for all pets (especially young puppies, shared rides, and flight nanny services).

  • Medications: Provide clearly labeled instructions with proper dosages and times.

  • Food: We carry quality pet food, but recommend sending a small supply of your pet’s usual food to maintain routine and reduce stomach upset.

  • Comfort items: Familiar blankets, toys, or bedding can help anxious pets feel secure.

  • Special notes: Please share any allergies, medical needs, disabilities, or temperament concerns in advance.

We supply sterilized bowls, leashes, leads, wipes, puppy pads, litter boxes, and more. The only item we do not provide is harnesses, so please send your pet’s fitted harness along.

Extra items: If you need to send crates, large items, or additional belongings, please let us know in advance. We are not always able to accommodate large extras, but we will try when possible. We usually ask that transport items be limited to one or two small bags. If additional items are needed for moving purposes, we can discuss case by case.

How far in advance should I book pet transport?

We recommend booking at least 3–5 days in advance for pickups, especially outside Georgia. Ideally, a full week gives us the best time to plan safe, efficient routes and secure your spot.

  • Early booking is best: We book up quickly, and many of our clients schedule weeks or even months in advance to guarantee availability.

Do you serve my city or state?

Yes—we pick up and deliver anywhere in the U.S. If you share pickup city/state, drop-off city/state, dates, pet type/size, and service preference, we’ll confirm availability and quote.

Can I send items with my pet?

Yes—space is limited. Please keep extras to one or two small bags. Crates or large items must be approved in advance; we’ll try to accommodate when possible.

Do you allow sedation?

We do not recommend routine sedation. Only use vet-prescribed meds and disclose dosage/timing in writing. For safety, we may decline heavily sedated pets.

What payments do you accept?

We accept:

  • Credit/debit cards (5% fee applies)

  • Zelle (preferred — no fees)

  • PayPal, Venmo, Apple Pay, Cash App

  • Cash at drop-off

Notes:

  • Deposits must be paid with card, Zelle, PayPal, Venmo, or Apple Pay.

  • We do not accept checks.

  • Two drivers

  • GPS tracking

  • 24/7 communication

  • Photo & video updates

  • Direct door-to-door pickup and delivery
